LOCATION: Prince George’s County, Maryland
Chester was the prime consultant for this $3-million study of a 10,000 acre sanitary sewer basin containing approximately 180 miles of sanitary sewer pipe ranging from 6-inch to 66-inch diameter.
Chester was responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the study among five subconsultants. The task involved:
- Project management
- Flow metering
- Rain gauging and radar rainfall analysis
- Infiltration/inflow analysis
- Hydraulic modeling
- Manhole inspections
- Smoke testing
- Weir testing
- GPS location of manholes
- Sewer investigation
- Data analyses
- Recommendations
- Coordination with local environmental groups
Chester also prepared reports and an extensive summary of all aspects of the project.
