Beaverdam Basin Comprehensive Sewer Study

LOCATION:    Prince George’s County, Maryland

Chester was the prime consultant for this $3-million study of a 10,000 acre sanitary sewer basin containing approximately 180 miles of sanitary sewer pipe ranging from 6-inch to 66-inch diameter.

Chester was responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the study among five subconsultants. The task involved:

  • Project management
  • Flow metering
  • Rain gauging and radar rainfall analysis
  • Infiltration/inflow analysis
  • Hydraulic modeling
  • Manhole inspections
  • Smoke testing
  • Weir testing
  • GPS location of manholes
  • Sewer investigation
  • Data analyses
  • Recommendations
  • Coordination with local environmental groups

Chester also prepared reports and an extensive summary of all aspects of the project.
