Chester Engineers and Premier Engineering Consultants, LLC in Second Year of an SBA Mentor-Protege Agreement

Chester Engineers (Chester), has a formal Small Business Administration (SBA) Mentor-Protégé (MP) agreement with Premier Engineering, LLC (Premier). This renewable yearly agreement focuses on providing Premier with technical, administrative and management assistance to enhance Premier’s capabilities and assist them in obtaining the goals set forth in their business plan. The agreement was officially approved by the Kansas City District Office of the Small Business Administration on July 1, 2010.

Chester’s CEO, Mr. Robert O. Agbede stated “We are honored to have been selected by Premier Engineering and approved by the SBA as Premier’s Mentor and we are making every effort to make this Mentor Protégé relationship a model of success.” Agbede, having led an 8(a) company before, learned very early on that the smartest way to enter and learn the consulting market was to find successful partner companies with whom to collaborate for mutual success. Chester’s entire senior management team is dedicated to the growth of Premier and is working towards a long-term relationship with the Premier team.

The SBA's Mentor-Protégé program enhances the capability of 8(a) participants to compete more successfully for federal government contracts. The program encourages private-sector relationships and expands SBA’s efforts to identify and respond to the developmental needs of 8(a) clients. This mentoring program is offered under SBA’s 8(a) Business Development program serving disadvantaged firms.
