2012-07 Columbus, OH – Senior Project Engineer
Position Requirements: Status: Full-time Schedule/Hours: 40 hours/week Location: Columbus, OH Travel: 30% - 40%
Position Summary: Responsible for overall design engineering, coordinating & managing engineering services and ensuring they are completed on time and on budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments Performs engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities such as roads, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units Analysis of survey reports, maps, and drawings, aerial and other topographical or geologic data; computing load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors; and conduct studies of environmental conditions Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipation and solving engineering complexities Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices Responsible for time and budget analysis and making sure project is on time and budget Provides schematic design information Prepares preliminary task lists Providing technical engineering information to project management to ensure that work complies with customer specifications & engineering standards Makes independent decisions on engineering problems and methods
Knowledge/Skill/Ability Requirements: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science with 5-7 years leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Registered Professional Engineer preferred for engineering project managers PE License Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software; 3D Civil software experience desired
