PITTSBURGH (March 5, 2008) -- Robert O. Agbede, President and CEO of Chester Engineers, is pleased to announce the promotion of Jerry Penland to Vice President, Technology for Chester Engineers.

In this new position, Mr. Penland will work closely with Dr. Robin Khosah, Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, to strengthen Chester’s use of technology in providing clients with creative and cost-effective solutions to tomorrow’s problems.  This will be done in a variety of ways, including new technology acquisition and development.

Mr. Penland brings to this position 39 years of experience in water/wastewater, environmental services and waste recycle-recovery.  He has held similar positions with Lancy International and Philip Services Corp., where he also served as president and CEO of the Environmental Services and Technology Division.  In addition, he headed his own environmental company, taking on water-wastewater, engineering services, equipment and design-build projects.

During his career at Chester Engineers, most recently as director of water solutions, Mr. Penland has been involved in industrial work and client development.  He is known for his innovative and creative technical approaches to water-wastewater solutions.  Recently he developed a new technology for treating Desalter wastewater from heavy sour crude washing.

I am proud to have Mr. Penland continuing with the Chester Engineers team, using his talents to ensure we enhance our tradition of engineering excellence.
