ATS-Chester Engineers Participate in CREST-RESSACA Conference

Dr. Robinson P. Khosah and Mr. Charles Crawford recently made a presentation at a conference in San Antonio, Texas, sponsored by Texas A&M University — Kingsville and the Center of Research Excellence in Science & Technology — Research on Environmental Sustainability of Semi-arid Coastal Areas (CREST-RESSACA), an interdisciplinary research center located at Texas A&M University - Kingsville. The topic of their presentation was the DOE-NETL sponsored project to develop a central data repository and analysis tools for data collected through a number of DOE sponsored data collection programs monitoring suspended airborne particulates.

The overall theme of the conference was Modeling & Decision Support for Environmental Systems and our ATS-Chester Engineers team made their presentation to a focus group of researchers interested in Decision Support Tools for Atmospheric Systems.

ATS-Chester Engineers has partnered with researchers from Ohio University (OU) and Texas A&M University-Kingsville to provide DOE-NETL and interested researchers with a state-of-the-art, robust and scalable web application to store, view, retrieve, and analyze particulate matter (PM) data, and to provide a scaled-down version for public access. The project began in August 2002 and is scheduled to be complete in August 2005. This developed toolset can be applied to a variety of environmental and scientific applications, including water and wastewater data management issues.
