News Archives Motorola Technology Providing a Better Way to Manage Public Assets in Allegheny County, PASCHAUMBURG, Ill., 20 July, 2005 — Allegheny County, PA officials have taken a step forward to enhance the level of service they are providing by implementing Cityworks, a computerized maintenance management system provided by Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT). Cityworks will help county officials better identify and track infrastructure such as signs, bridges, inlets and guiderails across the 730-square-mile area. Motorola was recently chosen as a subcontractor to ATS-Chester Engineers, to manage the technical aspects of the Cityworks implementation including installation, configuration, training, and ongoing support. Cityworks will provide seamless work and inventory management across multiple disciplines within the Department of Public Works. "Through the use of the Cityworks system our county is able to utilize our existing Geographic Information System (GIS) data" said Thomas Donatelli, Director of Public Works for Allegheny County. "The system will also allow us to better track the quality of county services and our efficiency in delivering those services." Cityworks is a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) developed by Azteca Systems, Inc. It is designed specifically for municipal government agencies facing the challenge of managing community infrastructure. Cityworks is an easy-to-use GIS-based asset inventory and maintenance management tool that can help virtually any agency department. Through a strategic alliance relationship with Azteca Systems, Motorola exclusively provides Cityworks software and subsequent services to large government and utility organizations throughout the United States.
