Construction Management For David L. Lawrence Convention Center Expansion

The JV team of Chester Engineers, a member of the ATS Group, (f/k/a Advanced Technology Systems, Inc.), Turner Construction Co. and P.J. Dick Corp. provided Construction Management Services for the new convention center expansion project. The $275 million project consisted of the demolition of several existing buildings and expansion of the convention center to 1.5 million square feet. This project included a new aerial building over the Fort Duquesne Boulevard.


Scope Of Work
Pre-construction services included the review of the Convention Center design documents and program criteria. The JV team had developed the project schedule, prepared and issued bid documents, prepared bid analysis, made recommendations and selected, retained and coordinated professional services. Additionally, the JV team prepared construction cost estimates, conducted value engineering, performed constructability reviews and performed cost reconciliation.
